Wood Lane Industries (WLI)
Wood Lane Industries, founded in 1969, is a sheltered workshop. A not-for-profit corporation, workers are adults with developmental disabilities who complete assembly work such as sorting, packaging, assembly, disassembly, confidential document destruction, and button manufacturing.
Housed in a 25,000 square foot facility, WLI workers are paid on a piece-rate basis for a majority of the jobs completed at the Industries. All piece-rate pay is calculated through time studies and follows all of the requirements and regulations of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Fair Labor Standard Act. Job tasks are customized, as needed, to meet each worker’s abilities through the use of adaptive equipment.
