Let Me Be Brave In The Attempt |
Special Olympics Wood County works with over 350 youth and adults in Wood County. Athletes are students in public school special education classes or receiving services from the Wood County Board of MRDD. To make this program operate successfully, over 200 parents, community and university volunteers donate their time and talents to assist athletes. |

Athletes practice a minimum of one time per week each sport season. The culmination of the hard work at practice is competing at an area, sectional or state event.

Wood County Offers Training In: |
- Fall - Team Bowling, Aquatics (Swim Team and Developmental)
- Winter - Ice Skating, Basketball (Adult Co-ed, School Age, Unified)
- Spring - Motor Activities, Individual Bowling, Gymnastics, Volleyball, Tennis, Cycling, Bocce, Athletics (Track and Field)
- Summer - Softball, Golf

Unified Sports
|
| Unified Sports is a program that combines approximately equal numbers of athletes with and without disabilities, on teams of similar age and skill level. This program expands athletic opportunities by allowing athletes to train with and compete against other community members.
Unified Sports help to achieve the goal of educating members of the community about our program and athletes. Wood County currently offers Unified opportunities in: Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, Track & Field, Bowling, Aquatics, Gymnastics, Tennis, Bocce, Golf |
