"We now have a mechanism whereby individuals wanting to financially assist Wood Lane can give to the foundation with many investments options available", explained Superintendent Bill Clifford. "This long term endeavor is one way we can begin to ensure that the programs offered to consumers remain consistent and delivered in an appropriate fashion." Once enough principal is in the account, the interest will be used to help fund needed supports, according to Superintendent Clifford.

As a 501(3)c organization, your contribution is tax deductible. We are affiliated with the Bowling Green Community Foundation. All assets are managed by the Toledo Community Foundation, who has a long track record of managing over 95 million dollars in assets.

While the Wood County Board of MRDD is financially secure and has the support of taxpayers, the Wood Lane Foundation was established in 1997 to meet future needs for Wood County citizens with mental retardation and their families.

The Restle Fund: The late Charles Restle, donated the initial $20,000 in memory of his wife, Bernadine, in order to establish the Foundation. His wish, which is being honored each year, is that the interest from this account is utilized to meet social and recreational needs of individuals served through Wood Lane Residential Services, Inc.

The Dolores A. Black Special Olympics Internship Fund compensates a University student who completes a full-time (600 hours) internship with the Special Olympics Program in Wood County.

The Judy and John Kevern Fund was established in 2003 in memory of Mrs. Kevern. Fund will benefit programs offered by the Wood Lane Adult Services program.

Anyone can contribute!
The intent of these funds is to help for future needs of the program.
